Western Landcare
Youth Network
Enabling the next generation of Landcarers
About the Network
The Western Landcare Youth Network is an annual program aimed at providing young people with a platform to explore a future in agriculture and the environment with access to skills training in these fields. The Network allows Far West youth to connect with each other and make a difference to their communities under the guidance and assistance of mentors. Students also make a difference to their communities by developing local environmental projects that they carry out. These three areas of activity form the core of the network; learn, develop, contribute.
Program Mentors
Be supported and guided by local industry mentors who will work with you throughout the program. Mentors include local land holders and managers and industry professionals from both government and not-for-profit organisations.
Workshops & Training
Participate in monthly workshops with industry professionals and local mentors guiding you through a range of activities like climate change and agriculture, farm safety, plant identification and agricultural technology and innovation with an opportunity to receive formal training through TAFE in agricultural fields.
Contribute
Create and implement your own environmental project with the support of other network participants and make a difference to your local community.
Partners and Sponsors
The Western Landcare Youth Network would not be possible without the support of our program partner Western Local Land Services and without the contribution of all of our sponsors.
